EAST ANGLIA

Due to our continued growth and demands in the life science sector we have based this new division just outside of Cambridge, LDD is in the perfect location to respond to our clients immediate requirements.

LDD Would Like to Welcome

Trevor Meierhofer

Trevor — who is heading this division up for LDD — comes with extensive knowledge in Concrete Cutting, but also coming from a Civil engineering background, he adds a wealth of experience and is a perfect addition to the group.

Trevor has worked in and around the East Anglian area for the past 15 years and brings an existing client base with him. With the LDD backing and our continued investment we are looking forward to seeing this division develop.

OUR EAST ANGLIAN SERVICES

It’s What We Do

DIAMOND DRILLING

Diamond Drilling, in construction, involves the use of a diamond-tipped drill bit to create precise holes in various materials, such as concrete, masonry, or asphalt. This technique offers high accuracy and minimal damage to the surrounding area. Diamond Drilling is commonly used for installing utilities, creating openings for pipes or cables, or extracting core samples for analysis. It allows for efficient and controlled drilling, making it a preferred method in many construction projects.

FLOOR SAWING

Floor Sawing involves the use of a specialized saw to cut through concrete or asphalt surfaces. This technique is employed to create precise incisions for installation of utilities, expansion joints, or removal of damaged sections. Floor sawing allows for efficient and controlled cutting, ensuring accuracy and minimal disruption to the surrounding structures.

BUILDERSWORK

Builderswork refers to the various non-structural components and installations required to support the building's functionality and aesthetics. This can include tasks such as installing partitions, flooring, ceilings, and finishes like tiling or plastering. Builderswork plays a crucial role in providing a finished and functional space while complementing the structural aspects of the construction project.

CONTROLLED DEMOLITION

The process is carefully planned and executed to ensure the safety of the surrounding area and to achieve a specific outcome, such as the removal of a specific section of a structure. Controlled demolition is often used to make way for new construction or to remove unsafe or structurally unsound buildings.

SOFT STRIP

Soft Strip refers to the process of removing non-load-bearing elements within a building prior to its refurbishment or demolition. This involves carefully dismantling fixtures, fittings, partitions, and services such as electrical and plumbing systems. Soft Strip aims to prepare the space for further construction work by creating a clean, empty shell. It helps to facilitate the renovation or redevelopment process while minimizing waste and maximizing the potential for recycling or reusing materials.

CONCRETING WORKS

Concreting Works encompass the processes involved in pouring, shaping, and finishing concrete structures or elements. This includes the preparation of formwork, reinforcement placement, and the actual pouring of concrete into the designated areas. After pouring, the concrete is then carefully compacted, levelled, and cured to ensure strength and durability. Concreting works are crucial for creating foundations, slabs, walls, columns, and other essential components of a structure.

SCREEDING

Screeding refers to the process of creating a level and smooth surface on a concrete or screed base. It involves the use of a straightedge or screed board to distribute and flatten the concrete or screed mixture. Screeding helps to achieve a uniform thickness and eliminates any unevenness or irregularities in the surface. This technique is commonly used for flooring applications, ensuring a solid foundation for further finishes or installations.

STRUCTURAL STEELWORK

Structural steelwork refers to the use of steel as a primary structural component in buildings and infrastructure. It involves the fabrication, erection, and installation of steel elements such as beams, columns, and trusses. Structural steelwork offers numerous advantages, including high strength-to-weight ratio, versatility, and durability. It is widely used in various types of buildings and industrial structures.

DRAINAGE

Drainage pertains to the system of pipes, channels, and structures designed to remove excess water from a site or building. It is essential for preventing water accumulation, controlling runoff, and maintaining the stability of the surrounding area. Proper drainage helps to prevent water-related damage, such as flooding or soil erosion. As part of our overall building package, LDD install below-ground drainage, sump pump and manholes.

LDD Would Like to Welcome Trevor Meierhofer

Trevor — who will be heading this division up for LDD — comes with extensive knowledge in Concrete Cutting, but also coming from a Civil engineering background, he adds a wealth of experience and is a perfect addition to the group.

Trevor has worked in and around the East Anglian area for the past 15 years and brings an existing client base with him. With the LDD backing and our continued investment we are looking forward to seeing this division develop.

Diamond Drilling

Diamond drilling is known for its precision, efficiency, and versatility. Unlike traditional drilling methods, diamond drilling can cut through a wide range of materials without causing significant damage to the surrounding area. It also allows for drilling at different angles and in tight spaces.

Floor Sawing

Diesel or electric powered saws allow long straight sections of concrete to be cut in a short timeframe. Can be used to form drainage runs in ground bearing slabs, depths up to 600mm.

Builderswork

We employ a range of established techniques to form walls and plinths across our jobs. LDD have formed lift shafts, block and beam floors and plant room walls.

Controlled Demolition

The process is carefully planned and executed to ensure the safety of the surrounding area and to achieve a specific outcome, such as the removal of a specific section of a structure. Controlled demolition is often used to make way for new construction or to remove unsafe or structurally unsound buildings.

Soft Strip

The goal of soft strip is to remove all of the non-essential elements from the building, leaving only the structural components and any items that will be reused or repurposed. This can include things like interior walls, ceilings, flooring, electrical and mechanical fixtures, and other non-load bearing items.

Concreting Works

Internal or external concrete works. Externally we install R/C plinths for plant, temp roads and undertake associated rebar designs where needed. Internally using holorib as form work we can infill sections of existing slabs, design and install rebar and form new slabs.

Screeding

When it comes to screeding no job is too big. LDD can create flooring using traditional screening methods as well as using the latest materials and techniques.

Structural Steelwork

Having high strength, stiffness, and ductile properties, structural steel is one of the most commonly used materials in commercial and industrial construction. Structural steel can be erected as soon as the materials are delivered on site, making steel a schedule-friendly construction material.

Drainage

As part of our overall building package, LDD install below-ground drainage, sump pump and manholes.
