Ziggy started as an Apprentice Diamond Driller for the Group in 1992. In the following eight years, he successfully completed his apprenticeship among other qualifications and amassed extensive knowledge of the concrete cutting industry before rising through the ranks of management.
In 2000, the Group acquired London Diamond Drilling Services Ltd and Ziggy utilised his technical knowledge and business development acumen to head up LDD and build on the existing foundations of this new arm of the company.
Following the management buyout of the group in 2003, Ziggy and three of the other Group Senior Managers formed the board of the largest diamond drilling and sawing company in the UK.
Ever on the lookout for new growth opportunities, Ziggy’s lightbulb moment in 2005 led to the formation of LDD Fire Protection, which would offer various passive fire protection services including firestopping service penetrations formed by the Diamond Drilling division.
With demand from key clients to offer the customer service and quality workmanship that the company had become synonymous with but across further trades, Ziggy started LDD Special Works in 2009. Now able to service complete builders work packages, the value and description of contracts undertaken continued to grow.
In 2014, Ziggy acquired LDD and the related trading divisions from the Group in another management buyout and appointed his Board of Directors.
Today, the company trades as LDD Construction Ltd and continues to successfully deliver projects throughout London and the South East.

Having been at LDD for nearly 19 years I am extremely proud to have been part of its growth during this time. We have diversified into a fully fledged construction firm, built around the services which we are best known for.
Danny joined the company in 2003 and continued his professional development by achieving his Level 2 NVQ in Drilling & Sawing with the DSA.
He gained extensive experience and wider construction knowledge on various sites in supervisory and operational roles before joining LDD’s management team in 2008.
In 2011, Danny headed the team managing LDD’s largest value contract at that time – the comprehensive strip out package of PwC’s headquarters at One Embankment Place.
From there on, Danny led the Special Works division of the company; building and mentoring a multi-discipline team to deliver large scale strip out and builderswork contracts.
Danny became a Director in 2015 and maintains his hands-on approach to ensure safe and successful provision of LDD’s range of services across all divisions.

Stephen joined the company in August 2016 and became Commercial Director in June 2017.
Before joining LDD, Stephen worked for a leading main contractor and has extensive knowledge and expertise in procurement, building contracts and construction techniques.
This experience provides LDD’s clients a high level of service to deliver their requirements.
Stephen enjoys the varied range of services undertaken by LDD and working with a close knit management team to exceed client expectations.
Stephen is committed and proactive in leading a team of Commercial Managers across LDD’s four divisions.

OUR HISTORY
See below some of the key dates in the history of our business.
1992: London Diamond Drilling Services is formed
London Diamond Drilling Services was formed in 1992 and quickly grew to become a leader across London in the provision of drilling services.
2000: London Diamond Drilling Services is acquired by The Group
In 2000, the company was subject to a buyout which provided the platform for the firm to grow. A modernisation roadmap was at the heart of the acquisition, with a plan to diversify into other areas beginning to take shape.
2005: Fire Protection is launched
Realising that holes made in concrete often need to be filled to modern fire regulations, the LDD Fire Protection division was launched, providing a passive firestopping service to complement its existing offering.
2009: Builderswork and Strip Out Competencies are now to be offered with the addition of the Special Works division
LDD launches the Special Works’ division, allowing the company to provide a multi package service on large contracts, providing efficiencies for all.
2014: Ziggy acquires London Diamond Drilling
Ziggy had a strong vision for the company and set out a modernisation programme, investing in people, plant and systems to ultimately enable LDD to become a tier 1 supplier and provide a best-in-class service.
2017: The company trades as LDD Construction Limited and turnover exceeds £20M
LDD turns over £20M for the first time. The company begins trading as LDD Construction Limited, and moves into a brand new office and yard in early 2018 to support the rapid growth the company is undergoing.
