CONSTRUCTION FIRMS TEAM UP TO DONATE NEW VARIETY SUNSHINE COACH TO STREATHAM YOUTH &
COMMUNITY TRUST

A group of subcontractors have teamed up to fund a new minibus for a
Streatham charity caring for young children.
Overbury and the Citi project supply chain companies have joined forces to fund the Variety Sunshine Coach for Streatham Youth & Community Trust through Variety Golf, a division of Variety – The Children’s Charity.
The Variety Sunshine Coach will allow less privileged children in the area to attend events and enjoy days out in the area. It comes after various people working on the project took on a range of sponsored challenges to raise money and awareness for the charity.
Ziggy Seagroatt, owner of LDD Construction, who came up with the idea of funding the new bus, said:
“It is amazing to have played our part in funding this important community resource.
“Everyone across the site has been involved in fundraising, showing an incredible commitment to such an important cause.
“We look forward to hearing more about the adventures the children will have thanks to the bus.”
David Howell, Operations Director at Overbury, added:
“I was absolutely delighted to see such passion and generosity from the team.
“The fact that this was entirely driven by the subcontractors shows the power of collaboration and
how construction can have a real and lasting impact on local communities.
“It’s something everyone involved should be incredibly proud of.”
Tracing its history back to 1946, Streatham Youth & Community Trust supports children, young people and vulnerable adults from its three venues in the district, helping all those living in Streatham to reach their full potential.
Jamie Little from Variety Golf said:
“The Sunshine Coach will play a huge role in helping transform the lives of young people across Streatham,
ensuring everyone in the area has the opportunity to reach their full potential.
“We look forward to all the great trips this generous donation will enable and the doors it will help open.”
