Ziggy’s 2018 Year in Review
As we wind down for the festive break I think it’s important to take a minute and look back on the year, getting everything down on paper is sometimes the only way to appreciate how much we have done. Some of the years key developments were:
Having experienced huge growth over the past few years the first part of 2018 was spent relocating to our brand-new offices in Beckton, East London. Situated in London’s Docklands with easy access into town but also within 20 mins from the M25 it is the perfect base for our operations. Moving into the office has been transformational for the business, it really has allowed us to step up a notch and the benefits have been seen across the firm.
The offices were stripped back completely and fitted out to a high spec, including the installation of brand-new IT and a fully function gym which has been a great success with our staff. We are currently extending the property as we have filled all of the desks up already!
LDD have made some great appointments in 2018 which are going to allow us to grow some key areas. In order to support our growing numbers of staff we have appointed Kelly Horne as HR Manager. Kelly brings a wealth of experience and has begun implementing the processes, systems and incentives to deliver on our commitment to staff. There are too many other great new additions to name but I would like to wish them all a warm welcome to the LDD family. We have also seen a few of the old faces at LDD move on to new challenges and I thank them all for helping get us to where we are today and wish them all the best for the future.
One of the highlights of the year was LDD being presented with the Growing Business award by BITA. We were shortlisted alongside 3 other companies but on the night we were triumphant – It’s What We Do!! I had the pleasure of accepting the award on behalf of the company and had to dedicate the win to our hardworking staff, without whom none of this is possible.
We got a lot done in 2018, across some of the most prestigious projects across London and the South East including works at Premier Place, 1FA Broadgate and Battersea Power Station and have worked for some amazing clients such as Spotify, Twickenham Stadium, Microsoft and Kingston University. The order book is stacked for next year and we continue steady on the path to hitting £30m turnover for the first time.
I have to give a mention to Drilltec, a company LDD acquired late 2017, because 2018 has been a great year for them – developing great relationships both new and existing clients. This business is coming on leaps and bounds – watch out for them as they are developing into a force in their own right (remember who is number one though eh Bally… :-)).
I would also like to thank all of our clients, customers, suppliers and staff for your support this year. Reading the above and what we have achieved this year it is hard to believe that 2019 could be any bigger but trust me it will be, because at LDD, It’s What We Do.
All the best,
