We Are Committed
to Sustainable Development

It’s What We Do

We strive to achieve the highest level of environmental compliance through procedural review, careful monitoring of waste and emissions and improved levels of training and awareness for all our workforce.
Our environmental management systems meet ISO 14001:2004 standards and by identifying potential nuisance risks and waste issues prior to commencement of our works, we are able to effectively implement controls that have helped our clients achieve their desired environmental ratings. Our current recycling rate across the group is 94% (average).

We Educate Our Staff
Above and Beyond Requirements

We will work alongside the main contractor to secure the successful delivery of the environmental credentials for the client. We will achieve this by:
Site Waste Management Plan

Completion of a comprehensive Site Waste Management Plan (also known as Demolition Salvage Plan for SKA rating) prior to start on-site.

Materials

Identification of materials that can be used elsewhere on-site, in other offices belonging to the client or by local, charitable organisations.

Deliveries

Grouping deliveries to minimise the amount of CO2 produced by vehicles travelling to site. Our vehicles are limited to set speed to reduce emissions.

Tools

Careful consideration of the type of tools used (electric, hydraulic, petrol powered etc.).

ISO 14001

Supplying environmental product declarations in accordance with ISO 14001 standards.

Landfill

Achieving in excess of the required 80% reduce/recycle/diversion from landfill rate.

Transport

Encouraging all operatives to travel to and from site by public transport.

Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs)

Assessing VOC content of materials and minimising wherever possible.

Building Research Establishment (BRE)

Utilising BRE’s Green Guide when specifying materials.

Timber

Supplying Chain of Custody information for all timber products.

Sourcing Materials Locally

Sourcing materials locally where possible or within 500 miles of site.

Environment

Regular environmental reports.

Waste

Segregation of all waste streams on-site.

Licensed Waste Carriers

We are licensed Waste Carriers but it is our relationship with our partner waste contractors that enables us to tailor our works and related removal to the specific project criteria.

We ensure that the arrival, removal and type of waste containers are arranged at times suitable to the location of the site and neighbouring buildings and can alter the methods of loading and collection where required. Our environmental reporting is fully compliant with all systems, including Smart Waste, and offers waste stream tracking from source to end user.
