Key factors include logistical issues, ensuring zero disruption to active office areas and ensuring we meet the standards required to obtain LEED gold standard. We worked alongside Overbury to comply with Shells strict health and safety policies, including ensuring permits were approved for each activity and correct procedures were understood and followed.
All noisy works were carried out in out of office hours times to minimize and disruption to Shell staff.
A cautious approach was taken erecting the new block work up to a height of 4.5mtrs as this was all carried out in a Mode 1 area (live Shell demise) and adjacent to live serviceable corridors.
The nature of our works meant that vast quantities of waste material were produced. Where possible, materials were strictly segregated on each floor and removed to waiting skips containers at times agreed with Oplc.
Of all material not fully recycled elsewhere, we were able to achieve a rate of 95% diversion from landfill.
